Fresh off the post – it’s another story from one of Indonesia’s legendary restaurant, Mozaic Restaurant Gasronomique. One of the best restaurant in Indonesia, and in the world has finally revealed their newest Executive Chef – Xavier Mauerhofer. And, to celebrate this spectacular commemoration, the restaurant is hosting a very special dinner for one full week. In this selected week, the menu at Mozaic will be featuring dishes from Chef Mauerhofer which were created for his arrival in Bali, and prepared with the kitchen team of Mozaic. Some of the dishes that you will taste varies from King Crab Salad with Cucumber-coriander gelée, mustard cloud, kafir lime dressing, Lemon pepper lavosh and balsamic reduction, to Seared Tuna Tataki with edamame-coriander puree and pickled mushroom, bangkang, and confied tomato – which expresses expressing Chef Mauerhofer influences and culinary discoveries.
A little taste of the Chef – the man has come to Ubud fresh from Shanghai, Singapore and Beijing with a great experience extending over a 20 year period, working in restaurants from London to Atlanta to China including in prominent Michelin rated establishments. Mauerhofer had also spent 2 years on the United States, and 10 years in London – where he had been working at some of the city’s top establishments with some of the best names in the business including Capital hotel (2 Michelin Star) Pierre Gagnaire’s Sketch (1Michelin star), Jean George Vongerichten’s Vong, The Square Restaurant (2 Michelin Star), No 1 Lombart Street Restaurant (1 Michelin Star), Chris Galvin’s Orrery Restaurant (1 Michelin Star) and Plateau, part of the Conran Group Restaurant. In China, Chef Mauerhofer was the Chef of New Heights, Three on the Bund’s iconic restaurant, which was raved for its legendary terrace and views of the Shanghai skyline and lastly, at Bei Restaurant at Opposite House Luxury Boutique Hotel. Adding to the list, the man was also at the Equinox Complex, Swissôtel the Stamford. Hence, without further adieu, let’s all give a very walm welcome to another talented maestro!
